Local 280 Contract Negotiations Update (1/22/26)

Dues Reminder - January 31, 2026 Deadline

Per our Constitution & Bylaws, the Dues payments for the 1st Half of 2026 ($263.00) were due on January 1, 2026 and are considered untimely (late) after January 31, 2026. All payments must be postmarked or received in our office by January 31, 2026  in order to avoid the $200.00 penalty fine. Credit & debit cards can be accepted over the phone (with a processing fee charged by the banking entity). Call 626-301-7900, Ext. 4.

SEIU Pension Fund / Letter to Members

URGENT:   Local 280 members who have reached the age of normal retirement (age 65), were mailed a letter from the SEIU Pension Fund during the month of January. This letter contains information regarding drawing your pension. Please be aware that all Union Locals have specific rules regarding working after retirement. One-Time Disability Exemption

If you qualified for the Health & Welfare benefits (insurance) for 2025 but you were unable to qualify for 2026 coverage due to a medical disability or under the Family Medical Leave Act, you may be eligible to receive the One-Time Disability Exemption. Employees who did not work the required number of hours and, consequently, are ineligible for coverage shall have an opportunity to obtain coverage based upon disability. These are the projected insurance qualifiers for 2026  benefits. These are estimated qualifiers only!   The 2026 Annual H&W Insurance requirement is 85% of all LIVE racing days/nights:   Days : 161 @ 85% Live Racing Days = 137 Days required Nights : (Including Quarter Horse and Harness Nights) 120 @ 85% Live Racing = 102 Nights required
