Work Rule: Calling On and Calling Off

Attn:  Local 280 Members

It has been brought to our attention that some employees are not adhering to the established work rule regarding calling on & off of work.

Please be advised that Work Rule #8 states it is mandatory for all members on any work list, including those at satellite facilities or racetracks, to call on and off. Failure to comply with this work rule will result in the forfeiture of employment for the following work day.

Work Rule #8: Members who are on a work list that do not appear as scheduled for work without notifying the appropriate Mutuel office of their impending absence shall be made to forfeit employment the next day of work.

It is your responsibility to maintain the necessary contact information for the Code-a-Phone or the Satellite Manager to ensure you can call in within the proper time frame. If you are on a work list and do not appear as scheduled without notifying the Mutuel office or satellite Supervisor of your absence, you will be subject to the forfeiture of your next scheduled shift.

Please ensure you follow the work rule to avoid any loss of work.

Best regards,

Shannon Hinkley

President / Business Agent
