Deadline to sign up for Santa Anita Autumn Meet Opening Day - Tuesday, September 22

Seniority Number Update
The seniority numbers will be updated in December 2026, and your new seniority number will be printed on the dues statement that you receive in early December. The new seniority numbers will be reflected on the Santa Anita Meet that begins on December 26, 2026. Sending out the updated numbers with the dues statements will ensure that everyone is made aware of their new number, and will allow for the Union membership rolls to be completely up to date.

Current Opt Out Payments to Eligible Members
At the contract ratification meeting on May 5, 2026, we discussed the terms of the proposed tentative agreements, which included a reduction to the Health & Welfare opt-out payments from 50% to 30% of the employers’ CAP rate. Once the membership ratified the contract on May 12, 2026, the new terms went into effect retroactively to February 1, 2026. There was also a retroactive 3.5% wage increase that was paid to the members. The insurance buyout checks dated April 30, 2026,

February 1, 2026 Pay Increase
The February 1, 2026 pay increase of 3.5% went into effect as of the current payroll period of 5/10/2026 - 5/16/2026. (Paid on 5/21/26) The retroactive increase from 2/1/2026 to 5/9/2026 will be aggregated for each employee and paid as a separate payment in the near future. Once Management gives us that pay date, we will inform the membership.

Work Rule: Calling On and Calling Off
Attn: Local 280 Members It has been brought to our attention that some employees are not adhering to the established work rule regarding calling on & off of work. 30-Minute Meal Breaks
The employers are following California law and our contract (CBA) regarding the 30-minute break period. This notice is just a clarification of a policy that has been in place for years. SEIU Pension Fund / Letter to Members
URGENT: Local 280 members who have reached the age of normal retirement (age 65), were mailed a letter from the SEIU Pension Fund during the month of January.
