Local
280 members who retire and worked a minimum of 1000 days in the previous ten
years before their retirement are eligible for the following benefits:
1)
Medical prescriptions for the member and spouse* ($7,500 limit each, lifetime.)
2)
Vision insurance for the member and spouse*.
3) Dental insurance for member only. (The benefits of this policy are greatly
reduced compared to the active members’ dental policy.)
4)
A $1,000.00 Life Insurance policy for the member.
To
receive these benefits the retiree must apply for these benefits by submitting
a "retiree application form" along with proof that he/she is
receiving a pension from the SEIU National Industry Pension fund.
In
addition to the above benefits retired members are given a lifetime pass for
themselves and a guest pass to the races upon receipt of their pension after
the retiree entirely quits working from the Industry (Those retirees on the WHR
program should apply for the credentials after they desire to no longer work.)

*Spouse
has coverage only as long as member and/or spouse are receiving pension
benefits. If member chooses the ‘member only pension’, then benefits stop with
member’s death.
